4th Weekend of the Season was a good one!

 Brad has had some really nice club hats made.  If you want one shoot him a text and we can get another order in.

As we walked out of lunch Sat this "Arkansas Gem" was parked in the lot.  We couldn't get our phones out fast enough.  Yes, that is a car seat in the back seat and yes, if you zoom in those are deer antlers in the cargo area. 
 The Bumble Bee has been transformed.
 Stevie brought Cade's new dog Gunner down to the camp to work with him for the weekend.  The bad news is that he did awesome, so Cademan may be out of luck! I am just glad I had Shane and Brad there to witness the deal we struck after Stevie took his Ambien!

Saturday's Hunt 
 The Tank Pit ended up being the place to be on Sat.  Shane, Brad, and Myself lucked up and had an incredible day.  Shane has a great video of a group of about 300 working us to finish the day.  I tried to upload it to the site but I am having technical difficulties.

Sunday the weather man obviously slept in because they were calling for Full Sun.  We stayed in the Blind until about noon and killed 10 Spoony's.  Then as you can see in the picture the sun came out and so did the Green Heads.  Glad we waited them out!

Here are a few more pictures from the opening weekend.

Sunday was a better day for Mallards.

We took a break during the hunt to watch Mr Garvey the Intercity Substitute Teacher!



Johnny's dog Van worked hard both days.  He got rewarded with some couch time.  If you read this use it as a word to the wise not the use that couch pillow beside him.

It was a great weekend, and I really enjoyed the fellowship.  I hope the East Tn boys can make it next time.  I am looking forward to a great season.

Opening Weekend 2013

Opening Day presented a very mixed bag of birds.  Gadwalls, Mallards, Wigeons, Teal, and a Speckle Belly Goose. 

 

The Bumblebee made short work of the rice fields!

Sunday Thousands of Geese made there way into our bean field.  You can see the cloud of birds rising into the air in the distance as we walked out.

  • THIS CLUB IS MANAGED AND RUN BY A BOARD OF DIRECTORS
    • Board Members
      • Shane Thorne
      • Stevie Johnson
      • Heath Thorne
  • DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS OF THE CLUB WILL HANDLED BY THE BOARD MEMBERS ABOVE.  VIOLATIONS OF THE FOLLOWING RULES WILL BE LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE BOARD.
  • ALL MEMBERS ARE TO ADHERE TO ALL ARKANSAS GAME AND FISH COMMISSION LAWS AND REGULATIONS
  • ALL MEMBERS AS WELL AS GUESTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE PASSED THE HUNTERS SAFETY EXAM
  • NO USE OF ALCOHOL OR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES WHILE HUNTING.  USE OF ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES IS FORBIDDEN WITHIN THE CLUB BY MEMBERS OR THEIR GUESTS.  VIOLATION WILL BE IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
  • MEMBERSHIP ALLOWS MEMBER’S CHILDREN OR SPOUSE TO HUNT WITH THEM AT ANY TIME.  MEMBER MUST BE PRESENT AND ALL CHILDREN UNDER 16 SHOULD BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES
  • MEMBERSHIPS ARE ON AN ANNUAL BASIS AND DUES MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE MAY 15TH. 
  • GUEST POLICY
    • No guests on opening or final weekend.
    • Members may bring one guest any time they wish as long as they notify board member.
    • Guests are limited to 2 visits per season
    • Members are responsible for the actions of their guests.
  • NO SMOKING IN THE CLUB HOUSE
  • MEMBERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING THE CLUB HOUSE BEFORE LEAVING.
  • EACH MEMBER WILL BE EXPECTED TO BE IN CONTROL OF THEIR DOGS. 
  • MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE THEIR OWN HUNTING GEAR.  IF YOU ARE GIVEN PERMISSION TO USE ANOTHER MEMBER’S GEAR YOU SHOULD RETURN IT IN ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION OR REPLACE ANY DAMAGED ITEMS.
  • IF ANY HUNTING AREA IS CONSISTENTLY HOLDING BIRDS MEMBERS WILL ROTATE USE OF THOSE AREAS
  • PITS AND BLINDS ARE TO BE LEFT IN THE CONDITION IN WHICH THEY WERE FOUND.  DECOYS SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE HOLE WHEN HUNT IS COMPLETE.
  • MEMBERS SHALL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY INJURIES SUSTAINED, VANDALISM, OR ANY PERSONAL PROPERTY SUBJECT TO THEFT OF OTHER MEMBERS AND / OR GUESTS WHILE HUNTING ON THE PREMISES
  • DUE TO HUNTING PRESSURE ON THE FIELD THERE WILL BE MANDATORY REST DAYS TUESDAY-THURSDAY UNLESS APPROVED BY THE BOARD.  OPENING WEEK THESE WILL NOT BE ENFORCED DUE TO THE SPLIT IN THE SEASON.
  • ALL MEMBERS WILL BE EXPECTED TO REMOVE HARVESTED BIRDS FROM THE PREMISIS TO MEET THE AR GAME AND FISH REQUIREMENTS
